2009 Trudeau scholar Jeremy J. Schmidt, assistant professor of geography at Durham University, will launch his new book at Paragraphe Books in Montreal at 6 pm on Monday, April 10. Water: Abundance, Scarcity, and Security in the Age of Humanity (NYU Press) details the intellectual history of American water management from late 19th century conservation efforts through to contemporary concerns about human impacts on the Earth system. Prior to the launch, Dr. Schmidt will give a public lecture at McGill University’s Thompson House (4 pm, 4th floor).

Jeremy will also give public talks on April 12 at Waterloo University's Water Institute (see link for livestream options) and April 13 at Western University, where he was a 2009 Trudeau scholar.
