12 October 2012 to 14 October 2012

Banff, Alberta

Focusing on writings from the first decade of the 21st century, this two-part conference will look for points of convergence and rupture between Canadian and Québécois women writers with respect to aesthetic matters, political concerns, and critical approaches and methodologies. The conference will seek to dislodge naive accounts and perceptions of the relationship between Québécois and Canadian women's writing by engaging with dissenting voices, traditions, and practices. The Banff portion of the conference will be followed by a conference in Montreal in the spring of 2013.
