1 June 2016 - 9:00am to 2 June 2016 - 5:00pm

International Development Research Center, 150 Kent Street, Ottawa, Ontario, K1P 0B2

On 1 and 2 June 2016, Canadian civil society, academia and public sector leaders will discuss how Canada can defend and promote fundamental human rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people around the world. Under the leadership of the Dignity Initiative, a recently-formed national LGBTI working group, this roundtable’s objective is to strengthen collaboration among Canadian civil society actors who work on LGBTI issues globally, and to forge new connections within the public sector. On this occasion, the Dignity Initiative will launch two reports on best practices for advancing the human rights of LGBTI people.

2015 Trudeau scholar, Erin Aylward, is member of the Dignity Initiative working group and a co-author of these two reports.
