David Morley is the president and CEO of UNICEF Canada, an author, a speaker and an activist for human rights and more particularly for children rights.

David Morley has been leading international development organizations for more than 30 years.  A 2007 Trudeau mentor, he is currently the president and CEO of UNICEF Canada and has headed Save the Children Canada and Médecins sans Frontières Canada.  Morley has worked with children's rights networks in Latin America and Canada and on medical-humanitarian programs in Africa. He has also served on the boards of community-based and academic organizations.

David Morley has been the president and CEO of UNICEF Canada since March 2011. Previously, he served as the president and CEO of Save the Children Canada, as the executive director of Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders Canada, and as the founding executive director of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship.

Mr. Morley's extensive experience in international cooperation began when he volunteered with street children in Central America in the 1970s. Since then, he has worked in community development and humanitarian projects in Congo, Brazil, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, and Zambia. From 1980 to 1998, he was the executive director of Pueblito, a Canadian/Latin American nongovernmental organization that promotes the rights and well-being of children. David Morley has also served on the Board of Directors of the Brazilian-based Abrinq Foundation for the Rights of Children and on the Board of the Canadian Council for International Co-operation. He was the president of the Ontario Council for International Cooperation and is a founding member of the Humanitarian Coalition. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Stephen Lewis Foundation, the Advisory Board of McGill University's Institute for the Study of International Development, and the Advisory Board of Imagine Canada.

David Morley's writing on international issues has appeared in newspapers across Canada and around the world, and he is a frequent commentator on radio, television and the internet. His most recent book, Healing Our World: Inside Doctors Without Borders, was published in Canada, South Korea, and the United States, where it won a number of awards.

In recognition of his contributions to international cooperation, David was awarded the Commemorative Medal for the 125th anniversary of Confederation.
