"I was thrilled to become a Trudeau Scholar. The Trudeau community provided me with self- awareness that new ideas were meaningful and respected. Every time I went to a Trudeau event, I only experienced respect from fellows, mentors, and scholars. Trudeau community members listened attentively to me, perpetually asking me insightful, challenging questions about my research. I was humbled by their encouragement—and mostly—by their willingness to carefully listen. I realized that the Trudeau was a habitat of intellectual idea making. In the world of ideas, it is rare to have a location where people have a tolerance—let alone a yearning—to hear new, creative ideas. Within this rich, encouraging context, I felt confident and humbled by the words and attentive faces of my interlocutors. For this, I am ever grateful for the opportunity to be a Trudeau Scholar."
