Nominate a scholar

This section is for university scholarship officers.

How an university can nominate candidates for a Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation doctoral scholarship?


  Only an official from your university can submit applications for its students (e.g. the person in charge of external scholarships and awards).


  When the competition opens, complete your registration request form. This gives you access to all the applications from your university.


  You will receive your username and password within 96 business hours (check your spam folder).



  If you participated in the online submission process last year, your information remains unchanged. If you have lost your password, please visit the Home page of the portal.


  Once you log in, go to the ‘To Assess’ section of the portal to review
the applications from your university. After reviewing the application, select
one of the following options for each one: ‘Yes’, if you want to submit this
application to the Foundation; ‘No’ if your university is not nominating the
candidate; or ‘Return’ if the candidate should add/modify information in the



  Of all the internal applications submitted online by your students, select up to eight (8) that best represent your institution's excellence, based on the Foundation's evaluation criteria. In the case of foreign universities, up to six (6) candidates can be nominated.



  Once you have selected the candidates, upload the letter of nomination from your university, signed by a high-ranking official of the institution (president, vice-president, dean of graduate studies, etc., along with each file.


  Inform all your university's candidates of your decision.



  Submit your complete files via the Foundation's Web portal by December 8, 2017 at 11:59 p.m. PST.



  An acknowledgement will be sent only to those candidates whose file is submitted by a university.

The Privacy Act allows candidates to access, upon request and with the referee’s agreement, personal information about themselves in letters of reference.
