Le premier pas vers un leadership engagé

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is thrilled to announce that 36 outstanding doctoral candidates have been selected as finalists for our 2021 Scholarship and engaged leadership program. More than 600 remarkable PhD researchers from across Canada and around the world came forward to apply for our unique program that offers not only generous research funding, but a unique journey toward becoming an engaged leader with impact.

La Fondation annonce sa première bourse d’études commémorative

Dans le cadre de son programme de bourses 2021, la Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau est fière d’annoncer le lancement de la bourse Mary-Jean Mitchell Green | Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Grâce à la générosité d'Alexander et Andrew Green, une personne supplémentaire s’ajoutera à la cohorte de boursier.e.s de cette année. Elle sera choisie en fonction des critères de sélection de la Fondation et son nom sera annoncé au printemps en même temps que ceux de la cohorte 2021.

La Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau aimerait remercier le Comité d’étude des demandes et mises en nomination (CÉDMN) d’avoir si généreusement contribué à recommander nos boursier.e.s, fellows et mentor.e.s au conseil d’administration. Bien que le début de l’année 2021 ait été très différent des années précédentes pour tout le monde – notre processus de candidatures et d’entrevues virtuelles n’y a pas fait exception –, les membres du Comité ont su faire preuve d’un engagement indéfectible.

La Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau et Fulbright Canada ont créé une chaire de recherche dédiée aux politiques publiques contemporaines qui représente une occasion enrichissante et multidimensionnelle de contribuer à la mission de la Fondation. Chaque année, on choisira un.e fellow Fulbright Canada – Fondation Pierre Elliott Trudeau qui participera, aux côtés d’autres fellows et de mentor.e.s, à la transmission du curriculum de leadership engagé de la Fondation, Construisons des espaces de courage, à notre cohorte de boursier.e.s audacieux.ses et innovant.e.s.

Montreal, June 10th – After a thorough, multi-tiered process, the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation selected 4 remarkable intellectuals based on their record of excellence in research, their leadership as public educators, their strong teaching and academic mentoring skills, and the relevance of their work, knowledge, and experiences to the theme of our 2021-2024 Scientific Cycle, Language, Culture & Identity.

UN ESPACE DE GUÉRISON, DE RÉFLEXION ET DE RÉCONCILIATION

In July 2021, Senator Patti Laboucane-Benson will host members of the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation for an in-person dialogue on community-led healing initiatives. The event will also include a discussion with Dr. Kisha Supernant, an Associate Professor in the department of Anthropology at the University of Alberta. Recently, Dr. Supernant has used remote sensing technologies to locate and protect unmarked burials at the request of First Nations communities in Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation is grateful for the opportunity to hear and acknowledge first-hand the realities facing First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people in and outside of our community. As we renew efforts to build an inclusive and equitable country, we are committed to continuing our work together in a spirit of understanding, compassion, and reconciliation.

In the course of the Foundation’s three-year Scientific Cycle Language, Culture and Identity, 2021 Fellows will contribute their unique experience and outlook to develop a leadership curriculum that fosters conversations and debates on critical issues that face the next generation of Canadian leaders and public intellectuals.
